Event Coordinator Intern - 25th Anniversary Celebration

Be part of something extraordinary! Engineers Without Borders Canada (EWB) is seeking a dynamic Event Coordinator Intern to help orchestrate our milestone 25th Anniversary celebration. This is more than just an internship – it's an opportunity to shape the storytelling of a quarter-century of innovation, impact, and systemic change in international development.
As our Event Coordinator Intern, you'll work alongside passionate changemakers, including EWB staff, board members, chapter leaders, and alumni, to create a series of engaging celebrations that honor our organization's journey and impact. From our launch at the April 2025 AGM through to the grand celebration in January 2026, you'll help craft experiences that bring together hundreds of EWB community members to celebrate our collective achievements and vision for the future.
This remote position offers flexibility while providing hands-on experience in large-scale event planning, stakeholder management, and impact storytelling.
Duration & Schedule
- Start Date: Mid-to-Late May 2024
- Duration: 10-16 weeks
- Hours: 35 hours per week, full-time
- Work Mode: Remote with occasional in-person meetings
- Compensation: Funded through Munk Stipend
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and coordination of anniversary celebration activities
- Assist in developing and maintaining project timelines and task lists
- Coordinate with committee members and stakeholders
- Help manage digital communication and event promotion
- Research and liaise with potential vendors and suppliers
- Assist in budget tracking and reporting
- Document meetings and follow up on action items
- Support virtual and hybrid event planning initiatives
- Help create engaging content for anniversary celebrations
Required Qualifications
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and virtual collaboration tools
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Experience with virtual event platforms
- Bilingual (English/French) an asset
